Community

Outside of client work, I stay active in the design community as a speaker, mentor, and educator.

Speaking at external design gatherings and internal company events

I'm a comfortable speaker at both external and internal events.

One talk I held for customers was about UX metrics, covering how to measure different user experiences and communicate them as metrics that leadership can understand. The goal was to help make the value of UX visible to the organisation.

Another event I spoke at was the Malmö Design Salon, where I was invited to talk about the importance of user testing. I used the Ubisoft Connect Profile as a case example and walked through how we used different research methods throughout the process.

I've also hosted a Malmö Design Salon at the Devoteam office, with guest speakers on Accessibility in Games and VR, which I moderated.

Mentoring design students and interns

I've mentored UX design students from EC Utbildning for many years. I enjoy it because it makes me reflect on my own skills and knowledge at the same time. I've guided students through their education and shared my perspective on what makes a good designer and how to navigate the professional world.

I've also taken on UX design interns at my company. I've planned their internship experience, decided what projects they'll work on, and aligned that with their own goals for the placement. I mentored them along the way to make sure they had everything they needed and space to discuss their thoughts.

My involvement with EC Utbildning's UX design programme eventually led to an invitation to join the programme board, where I've helped steer the direction of the education.
